The human brain is not the most efficient computer. What our brains are best for are abstract problem solving and visualization. Thoughts are best extracted from the brain by allowing our hands to do the work. Sketching with a pencil and paper can be a very rewarding process and is definately more intuitive than trying to convert ideas into something a computer can understand.
We've got plenty of grass roots experience using very simple tools to create what our mind sees. The advantage to you is that we are never limited because software or machines can't do what we are thinking, we figure out a way to do it.
